Project Description
The Brief:
This project in Calverton was one of the most ambitious in our portfolio — a bespoke fibreglass pond with a waterfall, a garden path leading around the pond, and a decorative timber bridge crossing a section of the water. The customer wanted a feature garden you could walk through and explore, not just look at from a distance.
What We Did:
JDM Ponds are specialists in fibreglass pond construction, and this project made full use of that expertise. The pond was designed to a completely custom shape — something only achievable in fibreglass. The shell was formed in situ, giving the customer a permanent, smooth, hygienic surface that is easy to clean, structurally robust and built to last for decades.
The waterfall was constructed with natural stone alongside the pond, with the pump and pipework concealed within the rockwork. A garden path was constructed to lead visitors from the garden entrance, around the perimeter of the pond and across the timber bridge — which was built to span one section of the water, creating a unique viewpoint directly over the pond. The surrounding garden was landscaped with planting, gravel and defined edging to complete the overall design.
All systems were commissioned and tested before handover. The customer was taken through operation and maintenance before we left the site.
The Result:
The finished garden is exceptional. The combination of fibreglass pond, waterfall, path and bridge creates a complete garden environment that feels immersive and changes with every season. The timber bridge is a particular favourite — standing over the water and watching the fish below is a genuinely special experience. The customer was absolutely delighted.
