The Brief:
Our client in Grantham wanted to transform an underused area of their garden into a beautiful natural wildlife pond with a waterfall feature. The brief was for a pond that looked completely established and naturalistic from day one — with natural stone edging, pebble margins and a cascading waterfall to add movement and sound.
What We Did:
We began with a free site visit and full design consultation before excavating the pond to the agreed shape and dimensions. A high-quality rubber liner was installed with protective underlay throughout the pond area and waterfall run.
Natural pebbles and stone were used for the pond edging and margins, creating the naturalistic look the customer wanted. The waterfall was constructed using carefully selected natural stone, with a submersible pump feeding water up to the top of the cascade and back into the pond. Marginal planting shelves were formed at varying depths. All pipework was concealed within the rockwork structure.
The pond was filled, all systems tested, and water quality confirmed stable before handover.
The Result:
The finished nature pond completely transformed the garden. The waterfall provides a constant, calming water sound, and the pebble and stone edging gives the pond an authentic, natural appearance. The customer was delighted — and the pond attracted its first wildlife visitors within weeks of completion.
